1.
Her face was speckled with a galaxy and Her thoughts unravelled gradually I saw the change, I saw the change My soul was rearranged with magic, Even though her life was tragic The world around her Confused and drowned her You said look up at the stars and there you are And I know she has a human face But I know she’s from another place You whispered close Washed away my past with desire Pulled me up out of the gutter The world around me Warped and doubted me You made me feel like a child again my love Something caught my eye I grabbed it Ten thousand different people had it Grab it from the bookshelf wrap it in a sheet Grind it into stardust and sell it on the street
2.
Washing the soap from the dishes Waiting for something more Don’t you ever dream about Floating away from shore Saffron spirals swirl your vision Take two steps out of the kitchen Someone shouts but you’re already lost You’ve been putting this off putting this off You’re making mountains out of molehills you ache to breathe Throw off your apron tear off your sleeves Face becomes a fractal soul becomes lost You’ve been putting it off Putting it off
3.
Sparkling stars in the sky and they're keeping your eyes down low They split the city to find something pretty and left the globe Chasing a dream that was barely achievable They packed it all up for something more possible But that day, their sparkle went away They’ll still look back in fear, They were too young to see Now every day is always the same for them Is that what you want? Ten thousand feet with deep water beneath it’s a long way down Collection of blues greens and everything in between, I can’t be found You'll disappear for an hour or two or so When you come back make sure to let me know I can see, where I’m meant to be Take me back to when I first heard your name Ever since then, I have not been the same I need to believe there’s more They’ll still look back in fear, They were too young to see Now every day is always the same for them Is that what you want?
4.
I woke up in the middle of the highway Felt the earth turning Felt the sun burning Built a dandelion crown Leave it in the sun till it turns brown Dandelion crown I woke up in the middle of the city Fixed up my outfit Try to look pretty Told myself to breath in and breath out I ran down the plastic covered hill side Flew passed the flowers They looked at me with black eyes Something that I lost was found The music didn’t stop till I hit the ground Dandelion crown

about

After over two years of passionate writing, electric performances, and hundreds of hard-worked hours, Pink Duke have released their compelling debut EP ‘Dandelion Crown’ for the world to feast upon. Recorded, produced, and mixed by Lewis Wundenberg at Wundenberg’s Studios, and mastered by ARIA award winner Joe Carra from Crystal Mastering, this release encapsulates the unparalleled psychedelic sound of one of Kaurna Land/Adelaide’s most exhilarating rock bands.

Born out of the fervent and thoughtful writing partnership of Ned Baulderstone (vocals, lead guitar) and Harry Fiedler (synthesiser, vocals, rhythm guitar), Pink Duke showcase a harmonious union of musical prowess and conceptual narrative. Joined by a superb rhythm section in Aiken Newnham (bass) and Steve Dinning (drums), the group draws from an eclectic range of influences, including David Bowie, Pond, The Drones, and Pink Floyd. Having established themselves as one of Adelaide’s most electrifying rock bands since their inception in 2020, Pink Duke deliver immersive, theatrical, and pulsating live shows, characterised by a psychedelic and introspective musical atmosphere, which features extended instrumental sections, dynamic improvisation, and seamless transitions between songs. With a background in musical theatre and acting, Baulderstone demonstrates professional excellence in conveying explosive and intoxicating performances, supported by a band of talented, charismatic musicians each displaying a unique command over their instruments. Following an abundance of high-octane, captivating performances, Pink Duke have become local sensations, transporting their audience to a hypnotic musical realm. After releasing their first single ‘Denialism’ in September 2022, the group have finalised the production of their emphatic follow-up EP, ‘Dandelion Crown’. Comprised of earlier songs from the bands collection, a “time capsule of [the bands] life the last few years”, the project features four original compositions, including recent singles ‘Caught My Eye’ (October 2023) and ‘Long Way Down’ (November 2023).
